“We believe in a world where every LGBT youth can express their gender and sexual identities with pride,” said Milwaukee Pride, Inc. president-elect Wes Shaver. “We are humbled by the UWM LGBT Resource Center’s award-winning impact in creating a safest, welcoming and affirming campus for every student.”
“We are thrilled to work with Milwaukee Pride, Inc. this year,” said Jen Murray, UWM LGBT Resource Center Director. “Together, we can encourage and empower more LGBT youth to live proud.”
The UWM Annual Drag Show is the signature event of UWM’s LGBT Resource Center. Last year, the show moved off-campus to the Milwaukee Theatre and drew over 2,000 people, easily making it the largest drag show in the Midwest.
The event is free to both students and the general public. However, to offset production costs, the UWM LGBT Resource Center will be accepting a suggested per-person donation of $5.00 at the door. Students can pick up advance tickets at the UWM LGBT Resource Center, located in the Union (WG-89.)
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Can’t make it in person? Follow the show with #UWMDragShow on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat!
