Build community. Advance the movement. Mark your calendar for the 2016 Wisconsin LGBTQ Leadership Conference!
As a presenting sponsor, Milwaukee Pride, Inc. is proud to support connectivity and collaboration between established and emerging Wisconsin leadership.
The Conference builds a more skilled and connected network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and allied leaders who are empowered to achieve and protect LGBTQ equality in their local communities across the state of Wisconsin.
Following last year’s breakout success, the Trans Leadership Institute will return on Sunday, Feb. 21.
The purpose of the Institute is to build a more trans-inclusive movement for equality, by bringing leaders, activists, significant others, friends, families and allies together from around the state to work on creating policy, legislation and environments that are inclusive of transgender and gender non-conforming people.
Why should you attend the Wisconsin LGBTQ Leadership Conference?
- Join established and emerging leaders, activists, advocates and allies from throughout Wisconsin for a weekend of learning, networking, and building leadership skills.
- Deepen your understanding of issues facing the LGBTQ community.
- Network with others in our community from across the state.
- Learn what organizations and individuals are doing to advance health, safety, fairness and inclusion in the LGBTQ community.
“Empowering LGBT leaders in Wisconsin is more important now than ever before,” said Jorna Taylor, Milwaukee Pride, Inc. development director.
“Our community will always need visionary and aspirational leaders to lead the fight for equality and explore the intersection of identity and gender in today’s society. The Leadership Conference is one way to identify the next generation of community leaders and help support the expansion of their skill set to lead.”
